Awesome top hat from the end of the XIX century.

Top hats, giving an elegant and distinguished touch to gentlemen’ white ties, became very fashionable first in France and then all over Europe in the XIX century. Unquestionable symbol of royalty and a must have for outfits in high society, it was made mostly out of silk and it represented the owner’s social rank.

This top hat is a classic, very representative of its era and has a furred inner side, as per French fashion trends of the time. Perfectly preserved, it comes with its hatbox, a true vintage pearl.

The hatbox is made of oilcloth-covered carton, with metal edges and leather strings.
