Gorgeous puppet theater, early XX century, handmade.

Made of wood and decorated with other materials, it testifies Italian street theater history of the time, a simple but sophisticated entertainment.
The structure is high and wide, to allow puppeteers to comfortably hide on the back.

The main body is made of wood and carton, with a sliding stage covered in paper with drawings for the scenes.

The facade is decorated with iconic paper mache figures and flowery and golden patterns.
The curtain is unfortunately missing, but there are hooks on the top that make us think there was one once.

Suggestion of use:
A symbol of another age, that may have a new life as precious collection item.

State of conservation:
Intact but for small ageing marks and some minor missing spots. . Refurbishing on demand
