Awesome fishtail wedding dress from the 30s, made of fine silk satin.

Completely hand-made, as shown by the label holding the brand ‘Sartoria Romana’. It belonged to a noble family from Abruzzo (central Italy), that took good care of the dress through the years, even keeping it inside its box from the original shop, thus making it travel through time in perfect state of conservation.

The dress is made of precious silk, thoroughly designed around its original owner, with an elegant lace decorated sweetheart corset, a tiny silky collar and long fitted sleeves. The long skirt, wider on the hips, drags on the ground with a royal fishtail, well padded on the sides.

The back of the dress has a romantic button line. Buttons are covered in a ton sur ton silk, with very subtle button holes in satin lace.

The size is quite small and the slim waistline make us think it might have been designed for a young bride, maybe in her early twenties, as usual at the time.

State of conservation:

Silk is perfectly preserved, the dress is intact. It has a subtle ageing patina and it has never been washed.
