Awesome hand-wound hemp cloth, made of hand spun hemp thread.
Vintage hemp is an extraordinary kind of fabric, due to its strong and unique structure. Hemp fiber was widely used in the XIX century, as a multifunctional kind of fabric. The fiber was often processed at home, and then hand wound, after a long phase of retting and spinning. This long and difficult process gives even more importance to the final result.
Hemp is a soft, comfy and yet strong fiber, and it is now one of the most requested fabrics ever, because it’s sustainable, it protects both from cold and heat in a natural way, it keeps away bacteria and fungi, to sum-up: a real wellness booster!
This hemp cloth is really light and what’s more, it’s the evidence of a perfect sewing job, due to the invisible threads stitching the two light hemp cloths that build this linen. The cloth’ edges are enriched by some fringe-decorations and with two embroidered initials (MF), maybe because the linen were meant to be a special gift for some occasion or for a wedding.
Suggestion of use:
A multifunctional cloth, a nice decoration for your living room or as a bed-cloth.
