This kind of fabric owes its name to designer Paul Creton. It’s really unique in terms of texture and weight.
This fabric’s particular composition has a combination of pure cotton and flax, making it stronger than usual cotton fabric – read: almost indistructibile – but all the same soft and so smooth.
Cretonne fabric was very popular at the time, mostly because of its materials that contributed to make it THE fabric for fashionable vintage decor
The color palette and the art deco kind of style of this cloth are really versatile, conveying an elegant touch to any kind of house.
