A king size bed cloth, handmade, unique, refurbished from an antique flat sheet belonging to a linen set from Puglia, end XIX century. Both flat sheet and pillow case, finely embroidered, with initials (DL), with tulle embroidered lace on the edges. In order to update the bedclothes adapting it to actual bed sizes, the cloth has been disassembled and finely re-stitched together with modern transparent muslin inserts, hemstitched on both sides. The new fabric choice has been made to give a more harmonic overall effect, due to the short length. Same procedure has been applied to the pillowcase. The shade difference is noticeable between the original white (ivory) and the bright white of the modern fabric. The letters on the linen are cotton filled letters, stitched to the linen with colored thread or natural shaded one, to make embroidery easier. Type of stitches: hemstitch, stem stitch, overlock, straight stitch.
