Harmattan
in the wake of passion

HARMATTAN IS THE NAME OF AN AFRICAN WIND
THAT BLOWS ALL THE WAY TO EUROPE AND BRINGS
A MIX OF NEW HARMONIES AND OLD MEMORIES.
IT’S MY INNER WIND, CARRYNG PERFUMES AND COLORS
THAT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH ANTIQUES AND VINTAGE

The job I love originates from my passion for antiques and from the ‘love spark’ that flies every time I find something interesting that stimulates my imagination.
It happens every time. Whether I’m specially looking for some unique piece or I simply come across one of them by chance, I get literally turned upside down by all senses and I’m thrown back in time to my childhood.
It happens mostly with vintage linen or clothing. I can’t help but going back to traditional family meetings with tireless ‘merlettaie’ (Italian lacemakers) or expert seamstresses, who over the years have been unflinchingly creating wonderful linen sets.
The fine nature of those linen sets, the precious yarns and the precision of the needlework have always held a special place in my heart, and made me create Harmattan. It’s my magical place, made of my past and timeless emotions.
My name is Laura and this is my story, but also my shop’s story.
